chaines-a-neige-voiture-paire-145-285-mm
Car Snow Chains Pair 145 to 285 mm

Car snow chains: the pair chosen to the exact width of your tires

Most "universal" kits sold force you to make do with an approximate fit. These car snow chains take the opposite approach: fifteen tire widths, from 145 to 285 mm, each sold as a pair. You choose the measurement shown on the sidewall of your tires and fit a car-specific snow chain, not a medium size. This precision makes the difference between a chain that stays put and one that bangs against the wheel arch.

Fifteen widths from 145 to 285 mm: city car, SUV, or van

The range covers both the small city car in 145 and 155 and the SUV fitted with 225 or 235, and even light vans in 265, 275, and 285. For the same vehicle, two different sets of tires do not require the same model: this is exactly what this range allows, where a one-size-fits-all kit imposes a compromise. Each reference is delivered as a pair, enough to equip the drive axle with a single purchase, manufacturer reference R7512.

On a mountain road, the difference is felt from the first few meters: the chain pressed against the tread bites instead of spinning, and the steering wheel regains consistency.

A reinforced design for snow, ice, and mud

The manufacturer announces a reinforced construction in high-strength materials, designed for maximum grip on ice, packed snow, and mud. The weight of the set, approximately 8 kg depending on the size, already says that these are not simple textile straps: they are real anti-slip tire chains designed for repeated use. The mesh works in traction as well as braking, including on icy descents where everything is at stake.

Snow chains by the pair — two chains per reference, for the drive axle.

15 tire widths available — from 145 to 285 mm, in 10 mm increments.

Fitting without a jack or tool — installation takes a few minutes, vehicle on the ground.

Traction on snow, ice, and mud — also useful for exiting a waterlogged path in a light 4x4.

Firm grip on the tread — limits bounce and contact with the bodywork.

Fitting your snow chains by the roadside, in the cold

The easy fitting of snow chains is the central argument here: no jack, no wheel removal. We unfold the chain in front of the tire, pass it behind, close it, move forward a few meters, then retighten. Two tips that change everything: try it once in the dry in your garage before winter, and keep a pair of gloves in the bag. Then drive at reduced speed, without sudden acceleration, and remove the chains as soon as you return to clear asphalt.

On which axle to fit the snow chains?

Always on the drive axle: at the front on a front-wheel drive, at the rear on a rear-wheel drive. On a permanent 4x4, refer to the manufacturer's manual, which often specifies the axle to prioritize. Also check the available clearance between the tire and the wheel arch: some vehicles require low-profile chains, information that your car's manual indicates. Finally, in several mountain departments, having anti-slip equipment on board is a seasonal obligation: these anti-slip chains for SUV and light truck meet this need.

The winter equipment selected at Becquet Voiture

Our winter department does not seek to pile up references: we select the models that cover real and otherwise unmet needs, and this is precisely the case with this range in 10 mm increments. Our French-speaking advisors help you read the dimension inscribed on your tire if doubt remains.
