Five bells of different lengths, powered by a 12 V compressor, produce the distinctive tiered chord of American Dixie horns—the one you hear coming from afar and that turns heads. At a stated 125 dB, this pneumatic car horn replaces a factory horn that no one hears anymore in the noise of traffic.

Five tiered bells: the mechanics of the Dixie chord

Each trumpet has its own length: from 6.2 to 10.7 inches, with bell diameters of 3 to 3.8 inches. It is this staggering that creates the musical sound instead of the monotonous drone of a standard horn. The set, in matte black ABS, adopts a sober aesthetic that fits well under a hood or behind a pickup grille without clashing with the mechanics.

The 12 V compressor and resistance to extreme conditions

The kit is self-contained: air compressor, supply tube, mounting hardware, and 12 V relay are included. The manufacturer states resistance to harsh weather conditions and extreme temperatures, which matters for a component that lives under the hood, between engine heat and road spray.
