A radical redesign of your German sports compact's cabin, true to the Volkswagen hot hatch spirit and the character of the most extreme R versions. Were you looking for the piece that takes your GTI from a well-finished compact to a fully committed build? It's right there in your hands at every corner.

Sporty and Distinctive Design

Top and bottom rims in glossy-finished 3K carbon twill (autoclaved carbon), grip areas finished in nappa leather OR high-density Alcantara, your choice. Customizable contrast stitching (GTI red, R blue, white). Bottom-mounted sport flat-bottom for racing grip. 12 o'clock marker available. The signature of Volkswagen R Performance hot hatches. A Golf 6 GTI Alcantara steering wheel doesn't just look better: the material grips your palm where the original leather, worn smooth by the years, eventually starts to slip. And the weave of a Golf 6 GTI carbon steering wheel catches the light with every turn, just like the limited editions you rarely see.

Superior Build Quality

Autoclaved carbon, hand-sewn nappa leather OR Alcantara treated to be stain- and wear-resistant. High-density foam under the trim for lasting comfort. UV-resistant polyurethane varnish protects the carbon weave against intense UV rays. All VW functions are fully retained: airbag compatibility, multifunction audio and cruise control controls, and DSG paddles if equipped. It's the difference between an accessory and a true workshop piece: nothing is compromised in equipment, everything is earned in materials. A properly treated Alcantara steering wheel withstands the seasons without becoming shiny, unlike cheap trims that start to shine after the first summer.

Golf 6 GTI and Golf 6 R steering wheel — a single reference for both MK6 generation sports cars.

Choice of nappa leather or Alcantara — the feel is selected according to your use, road or track.

DSG paddles retained — your original paddles are transferred to the new rim.

GTI red or R blue stitching — the color code of your version, reproduced exactly.

Bottom-mounted sport flat-bottom — racing grip and an unobstructed view of the instruments.

Compatibility and Installation

Compatible with Volkswagen Golf 6 GTI and Golf 6 R (model years 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012). Removal of the original steering wheel with airbag disconnection (mandatory procedure with the battery disconnected beforehand), transfer of the multifunction connectors and DSG paddles, reassembly. Installation time: 1 hour by a qualified mechanic. The installation of a steering wheel on a Golf 6 remains accessible to an equipped workshop, but handling the airbag module requires a strict power cut and waiting time before any intervention.

Can you keep your original DSG paddles and airbag?

Yes, and that's exactly what sets this custom Golf 6 steering wheel apart from a stripped-back racing rim. The driver's airbag, multifunction controls and DSG paddles from your vehicle are removed and then reinstalled on the new steering wheel: you retain all the original functions, including cruise control. A Golf 6 GTI Edition 35 or a Golf 6 R equipped with paddles therefore retains exactly the same driving behavior, with materials and grip that are in a league of their own.

Why order your Golf 6 GTI steering wheel from Becquet Voiture?

Becquet-voiture.com, Volkswagen Golf GTI and R accessory specialist, express delivery in France and expert advice.
