Car window deflector: rain guard and wind deflector in tinted acrylic
A window deflector is a tinted acrylic visor that fits the top of the door frame. Its role is simple and immediately noticeable: to deflect airflow and water over the opening, allowing you to drive with the windows slightly open in the rain without getting wet, without wind noise in your ears, and without fogging up the windows when parked.
What sets a good set of deflectors apart
- 3 mm thick color-through ABS acrylic: it does not whiten under UV rays, unlike thin plastic, which turns milky after two summers.
- 3M double-sided adhesive and frame clips: they withstand winter, high-pressure washing, and highway driving.
- Model-specific cut: a universal deflector leaves a visible gap at the front of the pillar, while a dedicated model follows the door line exactly.
- Sets of 2 pieces (front) or 4 pieces (front + rear), depending on how often the rear windows are used.
Drive with the windows slightly open, even in the rain

Adhesive installation or frame installation
Two mounting methods, each suited to a type of door.
- Surface-mounted adhesive installation: the deflector is stuck to the pillar, without drilling or disassembly. Suitable for the vast majority of vehicles.
- Frame installation (in-channel): the visor fits into the window seal channel, making it more discreet, and is reserved for full-frame doors.
- Set of 2 or 4: two pieces are enough if the rear windows are never opened; four for families.
- Tinted smoke or black: the smoke version preserves side visibility, while the black version offers a sportier look.

Frequently asked questions about window deflectors
Are window deflectors allowed? Yes in France, as long as they do not reduce the driver's field of vision. They are fitted from the factory on many commercial vehicles.
How to install a deflector without drilling? Degrease the pillar with alcohol, position the piece dry, then gradually remove the adhesive film. Install in temperatures above 15°C, and do not wash for 48 hours.
Do deflectors make noise? No, it's the opposite: when properly installed, they reduce turbulence when the window is slightly open. A whistling sound indicates that the front of the piece is peeling off.
Can I still go through an automatic car wash? Yes, after 48 hours of complete adhesive drying. The brushes will not catch a properly flush-mounted visor.
