The mirror cap of a Citroën, along with wheel covers, is one of the first things to reveal a car's age: plastic faded by the sun, scratches from car park doors, or a corner torn off in a tight parking space. Two types of installation exist. This is the quickest solution and remains reversible. In contrast, the replacement cover replaces the factory part, which must be unclipped using a plastic tool: this is the only option when the original casing is cracked or no longer stays in place.

In terms of finishes, the gloss black mirror cap is the most versatile: on a white C3 or grey C4, it creates the contrast that Citroën itself offers on its personalization packs. The carbon version, in glazed woven fibre or carbon-textured ABS, adds dynamism to taller models such as the C5 Aircross. Chrome adds an elegant touch to saloons and higher-trim Berlingo models. Finally, the unpainted cap can be matched to the exact colour of the vehicle: the repair becomes completely invisible, often the best option for a company van.

As designs vary from one phase to the next, each product page specifies the relevant years—a C3 phase 1 and a facelifted C3 have different bases. Check three points before ordering: the side (left driver or right passenger, as most references are sold individually), the presence of an integrated indicator in the housing, and the exact model version.

The materials selected—UV-treated ABS, glazed carbon, chrome inserts—are chosen not to fade after the first winter. Installation is carried out with the door closed, taking about ten minutes per side, using a simple plastic spatula: the electric adjustment and mirror defrosting remain intact.
