Porsche sunshades: protect the leather and plastic of the dashboard
On a Porsche, the dashboard and instrument cluster cowl are often made of leather or Alcantara. They are the first victims of the sun: the leather dries out and cracks, the Alcantara fades, and the repair costs several times the price of a custom-made sunshade.
The folding windscreen sunshades cover the Cayenne 955, 957 and 958, Macan 2014-2024 (including the folding block version for the Macan S and GTS) and Cayenne 987 2005-2012. Once folded, they store in the door and cover the entire surface, including behind the rearview mirror.
The magnetic sunshade for the Cayenne 92A 2011-2014 attaches to and detaches from the window frames in a few seconds, without suction cups or adhesive, and allows the window to be lowered.
Interior parts complete the selection: sun visor mirror covers for the 911, Boxster and Cayman, black interior sunshade with mirror for the 911 996 and 997, mirror covers for the 996, 997, Boxster and Cayman, and the sunshade mounting clip for the Cayenne 2011-2018 — the small, brittle part that leaves the sunshade hanging.
On the 996 and 997, these courtesy mirror covers are a classic repair: the plastic hinge gives way, the mirror no longer stays in place, and the original part is charged at a price that has nothing to do with its complexity.

Frequently asked questions
Does a sunshade really protect the leather of the dashboard? Yes: it blocks direct radiation, the main cause of drying out and cracking. The surface temperature of the dashboard can drop by several dozen degrees.
Is the 911 sunshade easy to replace? The interior sunshade and its mirror cover clip off the axis and can be replaced without special tools on the 996 and 997. Allow a few minutes per side.
Do the magnetic sunshades mark the paintwork? No, if they are placed on the metal window frame and the surface is clean. Avoid sliding the magnet over dusty bodywork.
