Mercedes LED headlights: front light units and control plates
A Mercedes LED headlight transforms the front of a car as much as a new bumper: the daytime signature defines the look, and the beam gains both range and color temperature. This collection brings together complete LED light units, conversion bulbs, and headlight control plates that manage all this from the dashboard.
The complete light units cover the most sought-after generations: C-Class W204 (2011-2013) and W205 (2015-2018), A-Class W176 (2013-2018) and W177, CLA W117 (2016-2018), CLS W219 (2005-2008), S-Class W221 (2006-2013) and G-Class W463 W464 (2007-2024). Commercial vehicles have their own references, notably the Vito W447 (2016-2022) with DRL option and the Sprinter W907 in Maybach style.
Many of these light units are facelift look renovation kits: they retain the original fender cutout but adopt the Phase 2 lighting signature, with a continuous LED strip, dynamic sweeping turn signal, and, on certain references, a selective yellow front light. It is the most visible way to rejuvenate a ten-year-old car without touching the bodywork.
The second family is that of the headlight control plates, highly sought after on the E-Class W211 (2003-2009) in black, beige, or gray. This is the part that fails when the light switch becomes temperamental, the lights no longer turn off, or the height adjustment no longer responds. It is replaced by simply extracting the block, without dismantling the dashboard.
Finally, the LED conversion bulbs in D1S, D2S, D3S and D5S allow you to switch from a tired xenon to a crisp 6000 K white, with immediate full power. They are installed in the original projectors and retain the beam adjustment; simply remember to check the light height after installation.

Frequently asked questions
Are Mercedes LED headlights road legal? The complete light units offered bear a European approval marking indicated on the product sheet. After installation, have the beam height checked: a setting that is too high will dazzle and is enough to justify a re-inspection.
My E-Class W211 lights no longer turn off, where does the fault come from? In the vast majority of cases, the light control plate is to blame: its contacts wear out and the rotary switch remains active. Replacing the plate solves the problem without major electrical work.
Can D1S or D3S LED bulbs be fitted in a xenon projector? Yes, in a lens projector designed for a discharge source. You must keep the same socket reference, respect the polarity, and check that the beam cut-off remains sharp after installation.
