Nissan steering wheel: the first point of contact with the car
The steering wheel is the only part you touch constantly. Glossy leather or a slippery rim ruins the driving pleasure of a sports car. This collection brings together custom Nissan steering wheels in carbon and Alcantara for the GT-R R35, GT-R Phase 2, and 370Z.
The custom 370Z steering wheel combines a carbon rim, Alcantara side grips, and a LED redline band at the top—the benchmark for track driving. The 2016-2024 GT-R Phase 2 gets a carbon Alcantara sport version that retains the original stitching.
The GT-R R35 features a carbon leather Alcantara steering wheel as well as an interior carbon steering wheel trim, which allows you to keep the original steering wheel while covering the lower part in carbon—a simpler solution if you want to preserve the airbag and controls.
The 52 and 56 mm Nissan steering wheel logo completes the look: it replaces the worn or faded center cap with a black chrome version, for a few euros and two minutes of work.
One point of caution: replacing a steering wheel with an airbag requires disconnecting the power, waiting for the capacitors to discharge, and handling the module with care. If in doubt, have a professional perform the operation.
Compatible with the entire Nissan range
The Nissan steering wheels in this collection cover: GT-R R35, GT-R Phase 2 2016-2024, and 370Z. The 52 and 56 mm steering wheel logo is compatible with a large part of the range (Qashqai, Juke, X-Trail, Micra, Navara): measure the original center cap before ordering.
Compatible models: GT-R R35, GT-R Phase 2 2016-2024, 370Z. 52 and 56 mm steering wheel logo: Qashqai, Juke, X-Trail, Micra, Navara, and general range.
Why choose this collection?
- Carbon and Alcantara: the combination that doesn't slip, even with sweaty hands.
- LED band: visible redline without taking your eyes off the road on the 370Z version.
- Trim only: alternative to a full replacement, keeping the airbag and controls.
- Replacement logo: the black chrome center cap to finish the look neatly.
Frequently asked questions
Can you change a Nissan steering wheel with an airbag yourself? It is possible but delicate: battery disconnection, waiting for discharge, removing the airbag module, then locating the rotary switch. An approximate installation can trigger a warning light. If in doubt, entrust the operation to a professional.
Does Alcantara wear out faster than leather? It shows marks faster if not maintained. Regular gentle brushing and a specific textile cleaner are enough to prevent shine. However, the grip is significantly superior to that of smooth leather.
What size steering wheel logo should I choose? Measure the width of the central oval of the current steering wheel. The two sizes offered, 52 and 56 mm, cover the vast majority of recent Nissans. Our sports steering wheel guide details the points to check.
