The Tesla center console is the most touched surface in the interior and the first to show wear. On the Model 3 and Model Y, the original gloss black plastic retains fingerprints and scratches at the slightest touch from a set of keys.

Why cover the original console
Three reasons stand out: hiding existing scratches, eliminating reflections of the black gloss finish on the windshield at night, and restoring a surface that does not retain fingerprints. The cover is placed on top without removing the console.
Carbon fiber, Alcantara, or matte
Carbon fiber adds texture and does not show marks. Alcantara provides a soft grip and absorbs reflections, but requires regular maintenance. The matte finish is the most subtle and the easiest to live with day to day.
Installation
Degrease the console with alcohol first: this is where 90% of peeling issues occur. Position it without removing the adhesive backing, check that the cutouts align with the cup holders and storage tray, then remove the adhesive film in sections by pressing from the center toward the edges.
Always check the generation: the console of the Model 3 Highland and that of the Model Y Juniper do not share the same cutouts as previous versions.
