Toyota mirror caps: the detail that makes a difference
A scratched mirror cap, faded plastic or pitted chrome can ruin an otherwise flawless car. It is also one of the most affordable ways to personalize a Yaris, Corolla, Aygo or Tundra: the part clips on and transforms the profile.
The 2012-2019 Yaris gets replacement caps, the 2014-2017 Corolla a carbon version and the 2019-2023 Corolla a direct replacement cap. The Aygo shares its reference with the Peugeot 107, the 107 CC and the Citroën C1 (2005-2014), three cousins from the same platform.
On the sports side, the Supra has a carbon mirror cap shared with the BMW 1 Series, 2 Series and Z4 G29, thanks to their technical kinship. The 2007-2021 Tundra, meanwhile, gets extendable tow mirrors, essential for wide towing.
Fitting a cap is one of the simplest in tuning: you unclip the original cap from the bottom using a plastic tool, position the new one and snap it into place. Allow five minutes per side, without removing the mirror or the folding mechanism.
The finishes range from gloss black to varnished woven carbon. Carbon is protected with wax twice a year; gloss black is treated like paint, with a gentle wash and a microfiber cloth.

Frequently asked questions
How do you unclip a mirror cap without breaking it? Fold down the mirror, insert a plastic removal tool through the lower edge, then release the clips one by one moving upwards. Avoid a metal screwdriver which marks the paint. Our cap installation guide details the method.
Will the Aygo cap fit a Peugeot 107 or a Citroën C1? Yes: the three models share the same bodywork and the same mirror during the 2005-2014 period. The reference is therefore common, which is indicated on the product sheet.
Do you need to disconnect anything to change the cap? No. The cap is purely aesthetic: the mirror, the defroster and the folding motor remain in place. No electrical connector is affected.
