Wheel spacers: wheels aligned with the arches

A wheel spacer fits between the hub and the rim to push the wheel outwards. Result: wider track, flush wheels and a better stance. The wheel spacer adapters in this collection are sold in pairs.

Why choose these wheel spacers?

  • PCD options: 5x112, 5x100, 5x108, 5x110, 4x100, 4x108, 6x139.7: you'll find the right bolt pattern.
  • Multiple thicknesses: from 3 to 50 mm, depending on the model.
  • Specified center bore: 66.5 mm or 66.6 mm, indicated on the product pages.
  • Bolts included: on some models, such as for the BMW 4 Series G26 i4.

A scenario you may know

You've just fitted beautiful rims. From the side, a gap remains visible between the tire and the arch: the wheel looks recessed. A few millimeters of spacer are often enough to correct this detail, provided you measure before buying.

Which wheel spacer to choose?

5x112 wheel spacer (Audi, Volkswagen, BMW)

For a 5x112 wheel spacer or a 5x112 wheel spacer adapter, the collection offers 15 and 20 mm 5x112 and 5x100 spacers for Audi and Volkswagen, a 66.5 mm center bore version for the A4, A6, Q5 and Q7, and slim 3 to 10 mm spacers. For a BMW wheel spacer, a 66.6 mm hub spacer with 14x1.25 bolts, for the 4 Series G26 and i4.

4x108 and 4x100 wheel spacers

For the 4x108 wheel spacer, you have spacers for the Peugeot 208, 308 and 3008 from 20 to 50 mm, and for the Ford Fiesta, Focus and EcoSport from 15 to 45 mm. In 4x100, the spacers for the Volkswagen Polo, Jetta and Up range from 15 to 50 mm.

5x120, 5x114.3 and other wheel spacers

The 5x120 is fitted to many BMWs: new models regularly join the collection, always check the PCD indicated on the product page. In 5x114.3, you'll find an M12x1.25 bolt-in spacer for the Nissan 350Z, 370Z and GT-R, and 5x114.3 to 5x112, 5x108 or 5x100 adapters. The 5x108 covers the Ford Focus, C-MAX, Jaguar XF and XJ; the 5x110, Opel Zafira, Vectra, Corsa and Meriva.

6x139.7 wheel spacer for 4x4s

For a Nissan Patrol Y61, the 6x139.7 wheel spacer is made of forged aluminum. Check the center bore and thread before ordering.

Spacer thickness and type: single or double bolt

A slim single spacer (3 to 10 mm) is fixed to the hub with longer bolts. A double-bolt spacer, from 15 mm, screws onto the hub and then receives the rim on its own studs. First measure the gap between your tire and arch.

Center bore and bolts: the purchase mistake to avoid

Three points to check before ordering: the PCD, the center bore (66.5, 66.6, 57.1 mm depending on the model) and the bolt thread (M12x1.25, M14x1.5, 14x1.25). A center bore that is too small prevents installation; the wrong thread damages the hub.

Safety, technical inspection and installation

Wheel spacers and technical inspection

We do not promise any approval. In France, spacers not mentioned on the registration certificate can cause problems at the technical inspection if the wheel protrudes from the arch. Bodywork protrusion is a defect: no tire should protrude. Also inform your insurer. Read our complete guide on the usefulness, safety and legality of wheel spacers and what the law and technical inspection say about wheel arch and wheel spacers.

Mounting and tightening the spacers

Tighten to the torque recommended by the manufacturer and re-tighten after the first 50 to 100 kilometers. A slim spacer fitted with the original bolts requires longer bolts for sufficient engagement. Never stack two spacers. On the downside, a wider track can make the steering heavier and put more strain on the bearings.

Frequently asked questions about wheel spacers

Do wheel spacers pass the technical inspection?

If the wheel remains within the arch, the risk is reduced. If the tire protrudes, it is a defect.

What is the before / after of a wheel spacer?

The wheels move outwards towards the arch: the car looks wider and more planted.

What are the disadvantages of a wheel spacer?

Heavier steering, strain on the bearings, possible rubbing if the thickness is too great.

Do you need to change the bolts with a wheel spacer?

Yes for a slim spacer: the original bolts become too short. A double-bolt spacer, on the other hand, is fixed with its own studs.
