Toyota bumper lip: lower the front end
The bumper lip, also known as a splitter, attaches beneath the front bumper and visually lowers the car by several centimeters. It is the aesthetic tuning accessory with the best effect-to-price ratio. This collection features the lips available for the Toyota C-HR.
The C-HR is the model covered: single-piece front bumper lip, 2018-2022 splitter version, and CHR 2018-2022 variant. These parts follow the contour of the original bumper, unlike universal rubber lips that leave visible gaps at the ends.
The material is UV-treated ABS with a glossy black finish: flexible enough to absorb a light curb strike, rigid enough not to vibrate at highway speeds.
Installation is done using 3M double-sided adhesive and, depending on the part, a few self-tapping screws in the plastic bumper. Always degrease with isopropyl alcohol before bonding, work in temperatures above 15 degrees Celsius, and keep the part under pressure for 24 hours.
One point of caution: a lip lowers the front ground clearance by two to four centimeters. On speed bumps and underground parking ramps, approach at an angle. The C-HR rear diffuser, the symmetrical part at the rear, logically completes the set.
