Black Aluminum Side Steps for Audi Q5 2009-2017 — Easier Access and a Bold Look
These fixed black aluminum Audi Q5 side steps are designed for the Audi Q5 (2009 to 2017) and sold in pairs. Measuring 4.7 inches wide, they make getting in and out easier while enhancing your SUV's premium look. The 8R generation established the Q5 as the benchmark for German compact SUVs; this 2009 Audi Q5 side step provides the only piece of equipment that was truly missing for everyday use, without altering the vehicle's original silhouette.
A Design That Transforms Your Audi Q5
Following the Q5's lower bodywork, these side steps provide a wide, secure step. Their elegant black finish highlights the vehicle's sporty and refined character. Viewed from a three-quarter angle, the lower bodywork gains a continuous line that grounds the car and balances its ride height, exactly the effect sought by dark exterior packages.
The deep black finish matches dark wheels, grilles, and window trim. Nothing looks out of place: this black aluminum side step looks like a factory-installed accessory, unlike a universal chrome bar, which would immediately reveal its aftermarket addition. A subtle addition that nevertheless changes the perception of the entire vehicle.
Premium Material, Quality & Finish
Robust aluminum structure, non-slip surface, and corrosion-resistant black coating: these side steps are designed to last and withstand daily use in all weather conditions. The profile absorbs repeated mounting without flexing, and the finish resists high-pressure washing and road salt. This is the level of finish expected from a premium SUV side step designed to stay in place for years.
- 4.7-inch non-slip step — full support, comfortable even with winter footwear
- Corrosion-resistant black coating — rain, mud, salt: the finish holds up over time
- Chassis-mounted — rigid fit, no wobbling underfoot
- Lower bodywork protection — gravel hits the aluminum before the paint
- Sold in pairs — driver and passenger sides, symmetrical installation
Installation on Your Audi Q5
Designed specifically for the 2009-2017 Audi Q5, they attach to the chassis mounting points. The installation is designed for this model; careful fitting is recommended. Compatibility should be checked depending on the version. The Q5 8R was facelifted in 2012, and some trims already come with side steps: check for the presence and spacing of the supports under the lower bodywork. Hold the bars up to the vehicle, align them along their entire length, then tighten them securely — installing side steps in this order prevents any rattling.
Side Steps on a Q5: What Impact Do They Have on Everyday Use?
On a compact SUV, the step-in height seems moderate… until you install a child seat in the back or load skis onto the roof bars. That is when the side step becomes indispensable: a stable step for reaching the roofline, a natural step for shorter passengers, and a foothold for cleaning the roof in winter. Add protection against gravel, and the 2014 Audi Q5 side step proves to be as practical as it is stylish.
