The CR-V is covered across two generations. The aluminum side steps for the 2012-2016 CR-V are designed for the fourth generation, while two versions cover the 2023-2025 CR-V, the current generation, which has an even higher sill height.
The HR-V 2016-2022 has its own aluminum version. On this compact SUV, the side step is as much about aesthetics as practicality: it visually widens the lower bodywork and breaks up the height of the door, balancing the vehicle's silhouette.

Plan to have two people position the bar, hand-tighten it using the three brackets, and then tighten it to the specified torque once the alignment has been checked.

Do you need to drill into the bodywork? In the vast majority of cases, no: the CR-V and HR-V have mounting points beneath the lower bodywork, sometimes covered by a plastic cap. The kit's brackets bolt directly into them.

How long does installation take? One to one and a half hours for both sides, with two people. The tricky part is positioning the bar while keeping the brackets aligned before tightening them to the specified torque.
