Fitting steps

  1. Prepare the replacement

    Disconnect the battery of your BMW. Note the original equipment: air conditioning, camera, amplifier, multifunction steering wheel. Check the package contents: 7" screen, Power cable, USB cable, Radio antenna cable. Part designed for: BMW 5 Series E39 and M5 E39. Check that your vehicle is one of them.

  2. Remove the original head unit

    Remove the front trim, unscrew the head unit and unplug its connectors and antennas.

  3. Fit the head unit

    Fit the head unit in place of the original part, on the same mounts.

  4. Plug in and connect

    Plug in the original connector, then connect the additional wires. Identify each wire with a multimeter and insulate every connection.

  5. Test and set up

    Test the sound, radio, steering wheel controls, camera and GPS. Set the vehicle type in the menu.
