Audi TT 8J MK2 TTS TT RS Coupé 2008-2014 Ducktail: the racing signature of Ingolstadt's coupé

Enhance your Audi TT 8J MK2 2008-2014 (TTS, TT RS, Coupé and Convertible) with this sporty Audi TT 8J ducktail. This Audi TT MK2 8J spoiler designed for the Audi coupé brings a premium racing signature, ideal for car tuning and car customization enthusiasts. At first glance, the rear is filled out, the trunk line gains tension, and the TT regains that sporty coupé temperament that the standard version contains just a little too politely.

Three finishes to choose from for your TT project

This car ducktail is available in raw FRP (for custom painting), gloss black ABS or real carbon fiber. A complete palette to adapt the style to your Audi TT project. The raw FRP receives the primer then the exact shade of your bodywork for an integrated, almost factory finish. The gloss black ducktail plays the card of sharp contrast on light shades and continuity on a black TT. Carbon, meanwhile, displays a visible weave that catches the light at every change of angle and immediately signs the high-end preparation.

Aerodynamics and TT RS character

More than aesthetics, this trunk spoiler channels airflow and improves aerodynamics during dynamic driving. A sport ducktail designed for TTS or TT RS enthusiasts who want a high-end finish. On the highway, the air coming off the hatch is straightened rather than released into the void, which visually stabilizes the stance at sustained speed. This is exactly the spirit of the factory Audi TT MK2 8J spoiler on the most radical versions, transposed here as an add-on part.

Premium materials and easy installation

Made of FRP, ABS or real carbon fiber, this ducktail combines strength and durability. The easy installation is done with high-strength double-sided adhesive, without drilling the sheet metal. Carefully degrease the bonding area, dry fit the part, mark the reference points then marouflé: that's the whole principle of a no-drill ducktail installation, reversible and without trace.

  • Audi TT MK2 rear ducktail — designed on the dimensions of the 8J hatch, not a cut universal part.
  • Three materials available — FRP to paint, gloss black ABS or real carbon.
  • Compatible with TTS and TT RS — coupé as well as convertible, throughout the 2008-2014 period.
  • Double-sided adhesive mounting — no drilling, no permanent modification of the bodywork.
  • Immediate gain in character — the rear gains visual width and aggressiveness.

What is the difference between a ducktail and a spoiler on a coupé?

The question comes back constantly and deserves an honest answer. The ducktail is an extension of the bodywork: it follows the hatch, stays low, and mainly works the lift of the air at the exit of the roof. The spoiler, meanwhile, is a wing mounted on supports, detached from the trunk, designed to generate measurable downforce at high speed. On a road-use Audi TT 8J, the ducktail is the relevant choice: it transforms the silhouette, integrates without a break in the line and introduces neither aerodynamic noise nor heavy mounting constraints. This is also why the Audi TT MK2 ducktail add-on remains the most requested aesthetic modification on this chassis.

Useful tools

  • Isopropyl alcohol
  • Masking tape
  • Microfiber cloth

Fitting steps

  1. Dry-fit the spoiler

Place the spoiler on the tailgate or trunk of your Audi TT, TTS and TT RS 8J (MK2) (2008-2014) without fixing it. Mark its exact position with masking tape. Before fitting, check that the version received (Gloss Black, Genuine Carbon, Warning Stickers) is the one you ordered.

  2. Clean and degrease

Wash the fitting area, then degrease it with isopropyl alcohol. Let it dry completely.

  3. Stick the spoiler on

Dry-fit the spoiler, peel the film off the double-sided tape, then press firmly for 30 seconds over the whole surface.

  4. Check the hold

Check that the spoiler is properly aligned and does not move. Open and close the trunk to make sure it does not touch anything.

  • Ideally fit above 59 °F (15 °C), in dry conditions.
  • Unpainted or fiberglass versions must be painted before fitting: plan a visit to a paint shop.
  • Get someone to help you hold the spoiler while positioning it.
