Compatibility

- iDrive CCC: for models produced between 2008 and 2009
- iDrive CIC: for models from 2009 onwards

This is the only truly determining point before ordering, and it can be checked in thirty seconds from the driver's seat. The CCC is recognizable by its cross iDrive menu, older graphics, and its player located in the glove box or console; the CIC, introduced in mid-2009, displays a side banner menu, more detailed maps, and includes a hard drive. In case of doubt, the year of first registration already gives an excellent indication: up to 2009, BMW X6 E71 CarPlay in CCC version; beyond that, CIC version.
