Volkswagen D-shaped 38 cm steering wheel cover: a slip-on cover for Golf 7, Tiguan, Jetta and Scirocco
This Volkswagen D-shaped steering wheel cover slips onto a flat-bottomed steering wheel with a diameter of 37 to 38 cm in just a few minutes. It rejuvenates a steering wheel with worn or shiny upholstery, improves grip and adds a touch of colour to the interior with its contrasting top and bottom bands. Five colours are available, from understated all black to sporty black and red.
Why choose this car steering wheel cover
- D-shaped flat bottom: the cover follows the flattened base of sport steering wheels without creating a bulge.
- 38 cm diameter: the standard size for most compact and SUV steering wheels.
- Stitch-free fit: the elastic inner ring holds the cover firmly in place.
- Non-slip steering wheel cover: a perforated coating that remains comfortable in both summer and winter.
- Five colours: all black, black and blue, black and brown, black and orange, black and red.
- Protects the original steering wheel: it protects the factory leather from wear and scratches from rings.
Golf 7, Tiguan, Jetta and Scirocco steering wheel cover
This Golf 7 steering wheel cover is designed for Volkswagen Golf 7, Jetta 6 models from 2017 to 2019, Scirocco, Beetle models from 2012 to 2019 and Tiguan models from 2019 and 2020 when equipped with a flat-bottomed steering wheel. The deciding factor remains the shape and size: you need a D-shaped steering wheel with a diameter of 37 to 38 cm. Measure the outer diameter of your steering wheel from one side to the other before ordering; a round factory steering wheel requires an O-shaped cover. Compatibility depends on the steering wheel and should be checked before installation.
Technical specifications
The cover is made of perforated faux leather on the grip areas, with coloured bands at the top and bottom and matching stitching. The inside is lined with a rubber ring that ensures grip on the rim. It is suitable for D-shaped steering wheels with an outer diameter of 37 to 38 cm. Delivery includes 1 steering wheel cover, ready to fit.
Installation and maintenance
Installation takes 5 to 10 minutes and requires no tools. First, fit the cover over the top of the steering wheel, hold it in place, then pull it down around the rim, using a second person if it is very tight. Leaving the cover in the sun or in a warm interior for a few minutes will soften it and make installation easier. For maintenance, a slightly damp cloth is sufficient.
Frequently asked questions
Which steering wheel cover size should I choose?
Measure the outer diameter of your steering wheel. This model is suitable for D-shaped steering wheels with a diameter of 37 to 38 cm.
How do I fit a slip-on steering wheel cover?
Fit the top of the cover over the steering wheel, then slide it around the rim to the bottom. No stitching or disassembly is required.
Can this cover fit a round steering wheel?
No, the flat base of the cover does not fit well on a round steering wheel. An O-shaped cover is required instead.
Does the steering wheel cover slip while driving?
When properly fitted to a steering wheel of the correct size, it stays in place thanks to its inner rubber ring.
Does it interfere with the steering wheel controls?
No, it only covers the rim. The buttons, paddles and airbag remain unobstructed.
