12-inch 4-lens mirror dashcam: 360° view and optional wiring kit
There are two ways to buy a dashcam: buy the device alone and then discover it is missing the cable that unlocks the most useful feature, or choose the complete configuration directly. This 12-inch 4-lens mirror dashcam offers both, honestly advertised. Four cameras cover the front, rear, and both sides, a touchscreen takes up the width of the interior mirror, and the version with the wiring kit activates 24/7 parking surveillance right after installation.
Four lenses around the vehicle and a 12-inch touchscreen
The main camera records in 4K 3840 x 2160 at 30 frames per second, f/2.0 aperture. The three other lenses — left, right, rear — complete the coverage all around the vehicle, something no dual-channel setup allows. The rear camera is connected by a 6-meter cable, long enough to run through a sedan or estate car to the tailgate.
The display is on a 12-inch 16:9 IPS touchscreen panel, which visually replaces the interior mirror. You switch from one view to another with a finger, lock a sequence with one press, and the device displays the reversing image when backing up. The menus are available in French among thirteen languages, which is not always the case with this type of dashcam with touchscreen.
The wiring kit: what the option really changes on this car camera
This is the real decision point of this sheet. 24-hour parking surveillance only works with a permanent power supply: plugged into the cigarette lighter, the device turns off with the ignition and sees nothing. The version with the wiring kit includes the hardwire cable that connects to the battery and keeps the device in standby. A sufficiently strong impact then wakes the camera via the G sensor, which records, locks, and saves the sequence. The power supply is provided by a supercapacitor, more tolerant to heat than a lithium battery in a summer cabin.
The version without the kit remains perfectly functional while driving — 4-channel recording, ADAS, BSD, loop, Wi-Fi — but does not include the hardwire cable and therefore leaves parking surveillance aside. We prefer to say it here rather than tuck it away in a footnote.
- Four lenses recording simultaneously — front, rear, and both sides of the vehicle
- 4K 3840 x 2160 resolution — the definition that makes a license plate usable
- H.265 codec — compact files, more hours saved on the same card
- Wiring kit available as an option — the only configuration that activates parking surveillance
- ADAS and BSD blind spot detection — driving alerts served by the side cameras
- microSD card up to 256 GB — class 10 required to handle four streams
Mounting this dashboard camera on your car mirror
The main unit attaches to the existing rearview mirror, without drilling or removal. The real work of a 4-lens dashcam installation focuses on cable routing: the rear camera cable follows the roofline to the tailgate, the side camera cables run down the front pillars. Allow for a morning for a neat run under the trim, or have this step done by a professional.
The device has an AV input, Wi-Fi for connecting to the phone, and a microSD reader. The whole is rated for a range of -20 to 70 °C, with anti-fog, anti-vibration functions, and overvoltage protection. Compatibility is universal on the interior mirror, but remains to be checked according to the shape and thickness of your vehicle's original rearview mirror.
Should you choose the memory card at the same time as the device?
It is simpler, and the price difference remains modest. Two capacities are offered, 64 and 128 GB, as well as a configuration without a card. In this last case, the microSD card is not included: you absolutely must plan for a class 10 card or higher, ideally designed for continuous surveillance video writing. A slow or entry-level card causes recording interruptions on a device that writes four streams in parallel. The device accepts up to 256 GB.
Our dashcams: what is in the box counts as much as the sheet
We spend a lot of time on this shelf untangling what is provided and what is not, because that is where disappointments happen. Hardwire cable, memory card, cable length, waterproof rating: so many elements that we detail rather than line up acronyms. To choose between this 4-channel dashcam with wiring kit and a simpler configuration, our team answers you in French.
Choose the configuration that truly matches your use: order this 4-lens mirror dashcam, with or without the wiring kit, and finally cover all four sides of your car.
