Underbody RGB LED modules: from 4 to 14 light points to illuminate an entire undercarriage

Four modules illuminate wheel arches. Fourteen modules bathe an entire pickup truck in color. That's the logic behind this RGB underbody lighting kit: you choose the number of light points based on the size of the vehicle and the intensity of the desired effect. Each module casts a dense light toward the ground, and the entire system is controlled via an app, including music mode.

What 14 modules do for a pickup truck or lifted 4x4

On a tall vehicle, the ground clearance leaves a huge area of shadow under the chassis: that's exactly where these modules make all the difference. Distributed across the four wheel arches and then along the chassis rails, they fill the entire volume with a continuous halo that appears to emanate from the chassis itself. The rims take on the color from below, the tires stand out, and the vehicle appears suspended. This is the effect sought by off-road builds, and it can only be achieved with multi-module LED lighting, not with two side strips.

The full RGB palette is accessible: a solid color for a subtle look, a gradient for ambiance, or synchronized pulsing to the music. In sound mode, the modules beat together to the rhythm, turning a parking spot into a stage.

Reinforced housings: the demands of lighting exposed to gravel

Each module combines a cluster of LEDs behind a flat lens, in an oval housing with double mounting. This design withstands what a flexible strip cannot: the impact of gravel, dried mud, high-pressure washing, and wading. The waterproof LED modules screw onto the metal parts of the undercarriage and stay in place regardless of speed.

The kit consists of the modules, a central control box that synchronizes the entire system, and the power harness to connect to the vehicle's circuit.

  • Six kit sizes — 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, or 14 modules depending on the vehicle and the desired effect
  • App control — color, brightness, speed, and scenarios from your phone
  • Synchronized music mode — all modules pulse together to the rhythm
  • Reinforced double-screw housings — no chance of being torn off, even on the track
  • Ground-oriented beam — the halo forms under the vehicle without blinding bystanders
  • Central control box — a single power source for the entire kit

How many modules to plan for your car or SUV?

Here is the rule we give our customers: four modules for just the wheel arches of a sedan or compact car; six to eight to add the front and rear; ten to twelve for an SUV or pickup truck whose chassis rails need to be filled; fourteen for a lifted vehicle or a look without any dark spots. It is better to have one more module than a black hole in the middle of the undercarriage: it is the distribution that determines the quality of the light halo under the car.

Properly mounting your modules on the undercarriage

Locate existing metal anchor points, away from the exhaust line, transmissions, and steering components. Drill only if necessary and treat the bare metal against corrosion. Route the wires along the original harnesses inside corrugated conduit, with a fuse on the power supply. Finally, check the regulations applicable to additional lighting in your country: this type of kit is most often used with the vehicle stationary, at a gathering, or on private property.

An lighting range supported by a team that loves modified cars

At becquet-voiture.com, customization is our business: bodywork, style, and lighting. With this family, we exclude modules whose cable entry is not protected, because that is always how moisture gets in. Our French-speaking team helps you choose the right number of modules before ordering.

Count your light points, choose your kit size, and bring your vehicle out of the shadows.

Fitting steps

  1. Prepare the cable routing

Work out where to place the strips on your vehicle and how to route the cables, behind the trim. Check the package contents: LED modules, Central control unit, Power harness. Before fitting, check that the version received (10 modules, 8 modules, 6 modules) is the one you ordered.

  2. Cut the power

Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative battery terminal before touching the electrical circuit.

  3. Clean and degrease

Wash the fitting area, then degrease it with isopropyl alcohol. Let it dry completely.

  4. Stick on the ambient lighting

Dry-fit the ambient lighting, peel the film off the double-sided tape, then press firmly for 30 seconds over the whole surface.

  5. Connect the power

Connect the positive wire to a fused 12 V supply and the ground wire to a metal point. Insulate every connection.

  6. Test the colors

Switch on and test all the colors and the app or remote control.

  • Secure the cables with ties to avoid rattles.
  • Do not route any cable near the airbags.
  • Fit above 59 °F (15 °C) and avoid washing for 24 h: the adhesive reaches full strength after that time.
