TPH PPF car film: protect your paint from the hood to the bumper
This transparent TPH car PPF film is a bodywork protection film sold by the roll, from small sizes for door sills to 15-meter rolls for covering an entire car. Invisible once applied, it absorbs gravel, bag rubbing, scratches from nails around handles, and wash marks, instead of your clear coat. Your paint stays just as it came out of the factory.
Why choose this transparent bodywork protection film
- 7.5 mil thickness (approximately 0.19 mm): thick enough to absorb small impacts, flexible enough to fit curves.
- Self-healing film: wash micro-scratches fade under heat.
- Anti-fouling and corrosion-resistant: acid rain, bird droppings, and resin slide off the film, not onto the paint.
- Gloss effect: once applied, the film revives the bodywork's shine.
- 13 sizes in 50, 90, 100, or 152 cm wide, from 1 to 15 m long.
What areas of your car is transparent PPF for?
Small 50 cm rolls are for door sills, the trunk sill, handle cups, and mirror caps. The 90 cm and 1 m widths cover a front bumper or the leading edge of the hood, the area most pelted on the highway. The 1.52 m width allows you to cover a hood or roof in one piece, without visible seams. The 15 m rolls are designed for a full transparent wrap or for professional installers.
TPH or TPU: what you need to know before buying a PPF film
This film is made of TPH, a more affordable material than the TPU used in premium films. It effectively protects against everyday scratches and maintains excellent transparency, but its stated lifespan is 2 to 3 years depending on exposure. It is an excellent choice for protecting a long-term rental car, a car you plan to sell within two or three years, or for testing PPF before investing in TPU.
Applying your PPF film without bubbles
The bodywork protection film is applied wet. Wash and then degrease the area, spray soapy water on the paint and the adhesive side, position the film, then squeegee the water from the center to the edges. A light pass with a heat gun helps the film conform to the edges. Allow it to dry for 48 hours before the first wash. On a full hood or a highly contoured bumper, a PPF film installation by a professional guarantees a wrinkle-free result.
Frequently asked questions about PPF film
How much PPF film do I need for a hood?
A compact car hood can be covered with a 1.52 x 1 m or 1.52 x 3 m piece depending on its length; measure the piece and add 5 cm of margin on each side.
Does PPF film yellow?
TPH can slightly dull after several years in the sun; parking in a sheltered area extends its transparency.
Can I take it through an automatic car wash?
Yes, after 48 hours of drying; avoid high-pressure jets on the edges of the film.
Does removal damage the paint?
On healthy original paint, the film is removed by heating it, without leaving a trace.
