210D Oxford is a lightweight but tightly woven fabric, chosen for its excellent weight-to-water resistance ratio. The waterproof Oxford fabric repels rain without weighing down the load or taking up space when folded. The perimeter is hemmed with a sliding cord, backed by a lower strap that presses the cover under the load. The UV protection prevents the fabric of a rooftop tent or the finish of a roof rack from fading under the sun over the seasons.

Choosing the right cover size according to the length of your roof rack

The manufacturer's guide is straightforward. The 170 x 145 cm cover is suitable for a roof rack 1 to 1.2 m long; the 190 x 145 cm covers 1.2 to 1.4 m; the 230 x 145 cm is intended for 1.6 to 1.8 m; finally, the 270 x 145 cm is for roof racks 2 to 2.2 m long. Measure the actual length of your roof rack or tent, including the load, before ordering. If you are unsure between two sizes, the larger one can still be used: the drawstring takes up the excess.

Does a roof cover really hold up at highway speeds?

This is the real test of a cargo protection cover, and it depends entirely on tension. A poorly tightened cover will billow, flap and eventually tear; properly tensioned with the drawstring and lower strap, it stays pressed down. Two tips: check the tension after the first few kilometers, and avoid leaving loose ends at the front, where the air rushes in. In all cases, the driver remains responsible for the load.
