DescriptionEverything about this product

Waterproof roof cargo cover: where the rain stops

You've loaded the roof, properly strapped it down, and a storm rolls in. This waterproof roof cargo cover stretches over the entire load and blocks water from getting through before it can reach your belongings. It's the discreet accessory you forget to buy that can save a holiday trip: dry suitcases upon arrival, intact camping gear, and no wet unpacking in a hotel lobby. A waterproof roof rack cover costs a fraction of the contents it protects.

A taut black tarp that fits the shape of your load

Once in place, the cover forms a smooth shape over the load: no flapping corners, no flapping sections at cruising speed. The solid black color matches all bodywork and roof baskets, including exposed aluminum models. Unlike a simple tarp tied together in a hurry, this dustproof cargo cover has its own shape and fastening system.

When folded, it takes up about as much space as a sweater in a corner of the trunk or on a garage shelf. Compact and lightweight, it can be deployed in a few seconds as soon as the sky turns grey.

High-density polyester weave and reinforced drawstring

The fabric is a high-density polyester weave: the manufacturer has tightened the weave to increase tear resistance, the main failure point of a tarp exposed to relative wind over hundreds of kilometers. The perimeter features a reinforced and adjustable drawstring: this is what allows a single cover to fit loads of very different volumes, and prevents it from lifting at one corner at 130 km/h.

Three sizes are available—170 x 145 cm, 190 x 145 cm, and 230 x 145 cm—weighing 600 g, 700 g, and 900 g respectively. The protection against rain and gravel is stated to be effective in both winter and summer.

  • Waterproof roof rack cover—barrier against rainwater and moisture
  • High-density polyester weave—reinforced tear resistance
  • Adjustable drawstring—fits different load volumes
  • Three sizes available—170, 190, or 230 cm long, 145 cm wide
  • Foldable and compact—stores in the trunk or garage without taking up much space
  • Compatible with cars, sedans, and SUVs—versatile use stated by the manufacturer

Place this cover over your roof load

First, load and strap down your gear as usual. Then unfold the cover, center it over the load, and pull the drawstring until the fabric fits the shape of the load without loose folds. This is the critical point: a poorly tensioned cover will flap in the wind, wear out over a few hundred kilometers, and may come loose. Check the tension after the first few kilometers and then at every stop, just as you would with your straps. The manufacturer states that there is a slight tolerance in dimensions (manual measurement): choose the next size up if in doubt.

Do you need a cover if you already use a waterproof roof bag?

That's a good question, and the answer depends on your equipment. On an open roof basket or bare roof rack, the cover is essential: it's the only barrier between your luggage and the road. On a soft bag that is already waterproof, it provides a useful second layer—it protects the bag's fabric from gravel abrasion and extends its lifespan, while also preventing water from seeping through an aging zipper. On a hard shell roof box, it is mainly used to protect the shell from scratches and dust during storage.

Protecting a roof load: our selection in this category

We stock tarpaulins, covers, and bodywork protectors, and the criterion that always guides our selection is the same: how the fabric is secured. A reinforced drawstring stated, a described weave, and three precise sizes: this is the level of information we require before accepting a product. Unsure about the right size for your load? Our French team will answer you before purchase.

Don't let the rain decide the condition of your luggage anymore: order your waterproof protective cover.
