Ford Transit 2015-2025 Windscreen Sunshade: No More Oven-Like Cabins

On a large Transit, the windscreen is like a slanted glasshouse: a few hours of parking is enough to make the cab stifling and the steering wheel impossible to hold. This car sunshade designed for the Transit windscreen intercepts the sun's rays before they enter, completely changing the experience of getting back to work after a lunch break in the sun. A front windscreen sunshade deployed in ten seconds, and the cabin temperature stops climbing.

The large surface area of the Transit covered from edge to edge

The Transit windscreen from 2015 onwards is both wide and steeply raked, which exposes the shortcomings of most standard screens: they leave two uncovered triangles near the pillars, exactly where the sun hits the dashboard. The cut here follows the actual width of the glass and allows the necessary clearance for the interior rearview mirror base and the sensor housing.

Stretched from one pillar to the other, the screen forms a clean, flat surface rather than an approximate patchwork. The side tabs tuck under the original visors and the whole thing stays in place without any suction cups.

What this cab screen is actually made of

The exposed side is a silver reflective sheet, the very principle of the aluminum car sunshade: it reflects visible light and a large part of the infrared rays outwards. A core of honeycomb foam sandwiched between the two faces then blocks conduction, which prevents a hot screen from radiating heat onto the dashboard in turn. The dark, soft inner face does not scratch the glass.

Flexible, the whole thing folds in half and fits into its pouch to be slipped behind a seat: on a utility vehicle already loaded with tools, this storage detail counts as much as thermal performance.

  • Windscreen thermal insulation — the main source of heat in a stationary van
  • Preserved dashboard — less fading and cracking plastics
  • Privacy in the cab — what remains on the dashboard is no longer visible
  • Winter use — placed in the evening, it limits frost formation in the early morning
  • Compact folding — stores behind a seat without cluttering the workspace

Fitting it on the Transit: ten seconds, doors closed

Unfold the screen, apply it against the inner face of the windscreen and fold the original visors over the tabs. That's it: this installation of a suction-cup-free sunshade is done from the driver's seat, even parked tightly on a construction site. The Transit has had several roof heights and two styles of windscreen between 2015 and 2025: a quick check of the width of your glass before installation avoids any disappointment.

Is a sunshade also useful in winter?

Yes, and it is a use largely underestimated by professionals. Placed in the evening against the windscreen, the screen creates an insulating layer of air that delays frost formation and very often avoids morning scraping. The same interior car windscreen sunshade that protects you from the sun in July therefore saves you five minutes in January, without the slightest chemical product or scraper.

Utility vehicles, a sector we take seriously

A van accessory undergoes daily opening and closing, not weekend use. That is why we discard screens whose sheet delaminates or whose frame loses its tension after a few folds. Our selection of car sunshades aims for long-lasting durability, model by model, and our advice is given in French by people who know what a work cab is.

Equip your Ford Transit with its windscreen screen and get back behind the wheel without grimacing, in the middle of summer as well as on a winter morning.
