4-sensor reversing radar with LED display: distance shown to the nearest tenth
Tight city parking, a post invisible in the rearview mirror, a low wall behind the bumper: this 4-sensor reversing radar finally gives you the information you're missing. Four ultrasonic sensors scan the rear of the car, a control box calculates, and an arc-shaped LED display mounted on the dashboard shows the distance in red digits, accompanied by a green-yellow-red progress bar and an accelerating beep. After a few maneuvers, it's the only thing you look at. It's the go-to choice for anyone looking for a simple, easy-to-read, and truly universal car reversing radar.
The arc-shaped LED display of this reversing radar, mounted on the dashboard
The screen has a very low crescent shape: mounted on the dashboard, it does not block any view of the road and remains in the peripheral field of vision. The colored segments fill up on either side of the central figure, allowing you to see at a glance whether the obstacle is approaching from the left or the right. At night, the brightness of the LEDs remains controlled and does not dazzle, a real plus compared to overly bright parking radar displays.
The sensors, meanwhile, come in eleven shades: black, matte black, white, pearl white, gray, silver, gold, brown, red, light blue, and dark blue. You choose the one closest to your bumper so that the rear parking sensor goes unnoticed once embedded.
40 kHz ultrasound and control box: how this parking radar works
Each sensor emits a 40 kHz ultrasonic burst and measures the return time of the echo. The central box processes the four measurements, retains the shortest one, and sends it to the display. The useful range is typically from 0.3 to 2.5 meters, with a close alert threshold around 0.3 to 1.5 meters. The sensor bodies are made of treated ABS, resistant to rain, salt spray, and frost: this is the minimum expected from a waterproof reversing sensor exposed at all times.
- Reversing radar with digital display — the distance is shown to the nearest tenth of a meter, not just a level bar
- Progressive audible alert — the beep gets faster as the obstacle approaches, without having to take your eyes off the road
- Eleven sensor colors — to blend into the bumper rather than stand out
- Simple 12 V power supply — the kit wakes up with the reversing light, no programming required
- Universal parking radar kit — sedan, estate, SUV, or light commercial vehicle, the installation principle remains the same
Drilling, wiring, adjusting: installing this sensor kit on your bumper
Installation requires four holes distributed across the width of the bumper, about 50 to 60 cm from the ground, then routing the cables to the trunk. The box is fixed in the trunk, the power is taken from the reversing light, and the display cable goes up to the dashboard through the door passage. Allow about half a day for a neat reversing radar installation, less if you have the right equipment. The kit is universal: simply check the thickness of your bumper and the absence of metal reinforcement at the chosen location before installation.
Should you prefer a reversing radar with a screen or a simple buzzer?
The buzzer alone costs less and is sufficient to signal an obstacle, but it never tells you how far away you are or which side the obstruction is coming from. A reversing radar with a screen like this adds these two pieces of information, which makes all the difference when parking within centimeters between two cars or reversing against a garage wall. If you are still hesitating, keep in mind that a display is sold with the car and immediately reassures the occasional drivers in the household.
Your reversing radar chosen from a driving aid specialist
Parking aids, cameras, and onboard screens occupy an increasing place in our catalog, and we select them with the same rigor as our style parts: well-molded sensors, locked connectors, realistic cable lengths. A question about connecting a reversing radar or the color to choose? Our team answers in French, before and after purchase.
Choose the shade of your sensors and finally reverse with peace of mind, distance displayed before your eyes.
