Risingon LED screen reversing radar: 4, 6 or 8 sensors depending on your car

Not all vehicles require the same coverage, and that is exactly what this Risingon QP1006 car reversing radar solves. Four sensors to monitor the rear of a city car, six to add the angles of an estate car, eight to cover the front and rear of a large SUV: the kit is ordered in the configuration that matches your vehicle size. A backlit reversing radar kit with LED screen completes the set and displays the distance clearly, in numbers and with a light bar.

The QP1006 backlit screen, readable day and night

The Parktronic monitor sits on the dashboard or at the top of the dashboard, within sight. It displays the position of the obstacle, its distance in centimeters, and doubles the information of a beep that accelerates. The backlight keeps the display readable in bright sunlight as well as in a poorly lit underground parking lot, where many small screens become unusable. This is what distinguishes a real Parktronic parking aid system from a simple audible warning.

On the sensor side, seven shades are offered: white, black, gray, blue, red, silver, and champagne gold. The goal is simple: to make the sensors on the bumper blend in. A car parking sensor well matched to the bodywork is no longer visible as soon as you take a few steps back.

40 kHz ultrasound and dual CPU: what runs inside the Risingon box

The 90 × 61 × 22 mm control box drives the whole set on 12 V DC, with a service range of 10.5 to 16 V and a consumption of 100 to 300 mA. The 22 mm sensors emit at 40 kHz and measure the return echo for a stated obstacle detection from 0 to 2.5 m, with a useful alert starting at 0.3 m. The module withstands -30 to 80 °C, which covers both the morning frost and the hot sheet metal of a summer parking lot.

  • 4-sensor reversing radar — the classic configuration for the rear of a sedan or city car
  • 6-sensor front and rear kit — two additional sensors to secure forward maneuvers
  • 8-sensor kit — complete coverage, ideal for a minivan, estate car, or large SUV
  • 22 mm ultrasonic sensor — standard diameter, hole saw provided
  • Integrated sound alert in the screen — no additional buzzer to hide

Installing the Risingon QP1006: wiring and sensor positioning

The sensors are recessed into the bumper at bumper height, evenly spaced, then connected to the control box hidden in the trunk. The power supply is tapped into the reverse light for the rear; on the 6 and 8 sensor versions, the front part is generally powered via the contact. The installation of a drill-free reversing radar remains impossible with recessed sensors, but the kit provides the hole saw and adhesives necessary. Mounting on a metal bumper is not recommended, to be checked depending on the version.

Do you really need 6 or 8 sensors on a family car?

If you mostly park in reverse, four sensors are enough. As soon as the vehicle is long, the hood is high, or you often maneuver in tight spaces, the two front sensors make a world of difference: they warn before the bumper hits the bollard. Switching to eight sensors is justified on wide bodywork where the angles remain blind. In any case, this front and rear parking sensor is ordered under a single reference, screen included.

In the box

  • 1 control unit
  • 1 buzzer display
  • 4/6/8 sensors
  • 1 hole saw
  • 1 power cable
  • 2 double-sided adhesive pads
  • 1 instructions

Fitting steps

  1. Prepare the fitting

Measure and mark the sensor positions on your vehicle's bumper, at an even height. Check the package contents: 1 control unit, 1 buzzer display, 4/6/8 sensors, 1 hole saw. Before fitting, check that the version received (White, Black, Gray) is the one you ordered.

  2. Cut the power

Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative battery terminal before touching the electrical circuit.

  3. Clean and degrease

Wash the fitting area, then degrease it with isopropyl alcohol. Let it dry completely.

  4. Stick on the sensors

Dry-fit the sensors, peel the film off the double-sided tape, then press firmly for 30 seconds over the whole surface.

  5. Connect the power

Connect the positive wire to a fused 12 V supply and the ground wire to a metal point. Insulate every connection.

  6. Test the sensors

Bring an obstacle close to each sensor in reverse and check the beeps.

  • Fit above 59 °F (15 °C) and avoid washing for 24 h: the adhesive reaches full strength after that time.
