Mercedes dynamic LED turn signal: sequential sweeping
The dynamic turn signal — which sweeps from the inside out instead of flashing as a single unit — has appeared on recent Mercedes models and high-end trims only. This collection allows you to add it to a car that didn't come with it from the factory, by replacing the original mirror turn signals or rear turn signals.
The most popular family is the sweeping LED mirror turn signals. We cover the A-Class W176 and W177, the B-Class W246 in the sequential version, the C-Class W204 (2007-2014) and W205, the E-Class W213, the CLA C117 (2013-2018), the GLA X156 (2014-2020), the GLC W253 and the V-Class Viano W447. The original part clips out of the mirror, and the new one takes its place using the same connector.
The second family includes the LED rear turn signals: A-Class W177 (A 180, A 200), GLK W204 X204 (2008-2012) and GLA W156 (GLA 200, 220, 260). These are replacement units that fit into the original housing, with the same cutout and mounting.
Finally, youngtimer enthusiasts will find the classic-style side turn signal lights for the W123, which retain the period shape with a modern LED light source, making them much more visible from a three-quarter front view.
Technically, these modules generally include a CANbus resistor to prevent the faulty bulb message and characteristic rapid flashing. Frequently asked questions
Is a dynamic turn signal allowed in France? Yes, provided that the module bears a European approval marking, that the color remains orange, that the flashing frequency is compliant, and that both sides are identical. It is equipment fitted from the factory on many recent cars.
How to change the mirror turn signal without breaking the housing? Fold the mirror, slide a plastic spatula into the upper gap of the cover, and gently unclip it. The module then comes out through the outside, with a tab connector. No metal tools, under penalty of scratching the paint.
My turn signal flashes too fast after installation, what should I do? This is the classic symptom of too low power consumption detected by the computer. A module with an integrated CANbus resistor is needed, or the addition of a resistor in parallel. Our product pages specify this point for each reference.
