BMW third brake light: the part that causes a failed inspection
The third brake light is mandatory equipment, and its failure is a classic reason for a re-inspection. On 2000s-era BMWs, the LED strip bonded into the rear window or spoiler eventually partially fails. This collection brings together replacement LED brake lights for the most affected chassis.

Several references use the original part number, such as 63257145519 for the 3 Series E90, 63257162309 for the E93, or 63257164978 for the 1 Series. This is the safest way to order without mistakes: the number is usually found on the back of the removed light.
Installation is one of the simplest on the car: on the sedan, the light clips off from inside the rear parcel shelf or after removing the trim panel; on the convertible and roadster, it is removed through the top of the trunk lid. The connector is the original one, with no adaptation required.
